The Ketewamoke Chapter gathered in the chapter house for their October meeting! They collected sweatpants for the Veterans of Northport VA. Also working with Operation Gratitude, Ketewamoke ladies had a successful meeting!

Step back in time to the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties at our spectacular Great Gatsby Event! This night is for the benefit of the historic Ketewamoke Chapter House preservation.

For their Outstanding Service to America we will be honoring community leaders Bea Hartigan and FDNY Lieutenant Michael Magerle, as well as the recognition of our golden anniversary members.

Join us as we honor the veterans buried in the Old Burying Ground. We will be placing fresh evergreen wreaths on the graves of our patriots.

Come celebrate our 111th anniversary and learn about the early years of Ketewamoke Chapter, NSDAR as we view the photographs, newspaper articles, and scrapbooks in our archives. White gloves will be handed out to anyone who wishes to browse our display, and we will be celebrating with cake, of course!

Spain and the War for American Independence

From military support to financial support, Spain was an important and often overlooked ally in our fight for independence. Come learn about the roll that Spain played in the American Revolution and learn about the efforts of NSDAR to honor Spanish Patriots.

Grab your "soap boxes," ladies, and wave that purple and gold victory flag! Please join us as we honor our NSDAR members who were active in the Women's Suffrage movement. Our business meeting and luncheon will be followed by a discussion of the book Ordinary Equality.

Project Patriot. Join us for a fun working meeting where we will put together care packages for active duty military service members and the patients at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. A list of supplies will be sent out in advance. Refreshments and lunch will be served.
National NSDAR Day of Service

Join NSDAR members from coast to coast as we commemorate the founding of the NSDAR on October 11, 1890. Join our chapter for a fun day cleaning the gravestones in the Old Burying Ground. We will have cider, donuts, and coffee in our chapter house followed by a brief tombstone cleaning demonstration. Chapter members will team up for a fun day of service and historic preservation.

Wreaths Across America

Patriotic/Nat'l Defense/Commemorative.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the organization's mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. Ketewamoke Chapter NSDAR will be participating by raising funds to sponsor the purchase of wreaths, and laying them upon the graves of local veterans at a Huntington, New York-area cemetery. Cream Tea & Tour of Local Historic Mansion

Historic/Educational/Preservation. Members, Spouses, & Friends. Enjoy a cream tea, which features scones, clotted cream, jam, and tea, then a guided tour of the 1906 period home built for John S. Phipps. Period rooms are beautifully and exquisitely decorated by the Horticulture Staff with Christmas trees, wreaths, mantelpiece arrangements, topiaries, and plants. Antique clothing and toys from the Westbury House collection will be on display. The house and gardens are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Toys for Needy Children

Educational/Patriotic.
Members are to bring UNWRAPPED toy(s). Board members will take the toys to the Greenlawn Fire Department which, in turn, will take them to the Dix Hills Fire Department for distribution to children in need. A “make your own sandwiches” lunch will be served. There will be cold cuts, rolls, and salads, tea,coffee and cookies.

Annual Veteran-Patient Luncheon to Recognize and Honor Service Men and Women from all branches of the military, World War I to the present.
